Insurance law is fairly technical and will nearly always depend on interpretation of particular policies. The interests of the policyholder have been assisted by the IC Act, but it has also made insurance law considerably more complicated.
There are several reference books in the field. Readers are specifically referred to:
• The Australian and New Zealand Insurance Reporter, CCH Australia Ltd.
• Pynt, G, Australian Insurance Law: A First Reference, 3rd edition, LexisNexis.
These publications are detailed and up-to-date sources of information.
