There is a right of appeal from the AAT to the Federal Court of Australia. This appeal is restricted to questions of law and refusals to grant standing. The appeal must be lodged within 28 days of the decision of the AAT.
There is a right of appeal from the VCAT to the Supreme Court (or where the VCAT is constituted by a Judge, to the Court of Appeal of Victoria). The appeal must be lodged within 28 days of the order of VCAT and is limited to an appeal on a question of law.
