UNEMPLOYMENT SCHEMES

A considerable number of schemes now exist to provide benefits to the unemployed, and subsidies to employers to take on new staff. Some schemes provide formal skills training, usually in association with a training wage lower than the normal applicable wage. For details of some schemes, see: Chapter 7*1 Social Security Payments.
