Sentencing in the Magistrates’ Court

When sentencing, the magistrate will assess all the circumstances of the case relating to the accused’s personal situation and the impact of the offending on the victim. A Community Correction Order is the latest sentencing option introduced to the Magistrates’ Court. Most sentences can be imposed with or without conviction.
